Flea Market Finds


I enjoy going to flea markets, estate sales, etc. to try to find things that others do not see the beauty in and bring them home and create  something special out of it.  I call them my "trash to treasure" projects and find much pleasure in these little treasures.  I hope you do too.

This is a most beautiful, unique set of dishes.  The bottom says  National Brotherhood
of Operative Potters, Warranted, 22K gold, Royal Blue, M-10 and has a crown with the word "Royal" in it.  They are white with gold etching on a blueish purple color rim with pink and blue flowers.  They are called royal blue on the dish, but to me they are more of a periwinkle blue color.    The set includes 4 each of dinner plates, bread and butter plates, saucers, cups, and butter dishes.  It also includes a larger two handled platter.  This pattern is so vintage looking.  You can tell they are very , very old.  They are really beautiful.

Royal Blue Cup & Saucer

This is a beautiful very old cup and saucer.  It is called Royal Blue on the dish, but to me it is more of a periwinkle, a color probably not heard of yet when this was made.  The bottom says National Brotherhood of Operative Potters, Warranted 22k gold, Royal Blue, M-10,  and has a crown with the word Royal in it.   A unique old set.

This is a very old set of Fireking.  It says Anchor Hocking, Made in USA.  It is thick and they and in perfect condition.  They are white with dark peach colored flowers.

This is a 4" round powder box or trinket box.  It is a heavy glass and the top is silver plate.
The top also has a mirror in it.  Really pretty on a vintage dresser, bathroom, etc.

Vintage Lipstick/Mirror

This piece is so vintage and absolutely beautiful.  It is still in good shape.  It is a little 2 1/2" mirror on one side and beautiful pearl and rhinestone embellishments on the other side.  Also on the bottom part is a 2" long old lipstick holder.  The mirror folds down on the top of the lipsitck holder and snaps closed.  Really a neat old item to add to your collection of vintage treasures.

Josephine Retro Doll

I fell in love with this doll when I saw her in an antique store in Memphis,TN.  She was quite costly but I thought she was just exquisite so I brought her home.  She was a permanent fixture in my boutique for a long while as a display for my jewelry brooches, etc.  Now it is time to give her a new home.  She is porcelain, retro or vintage dressed, on a stand and is 8 x 17.  She has lovely blue eyes and black hair.  She wears a black coat and shoes and has lots of white ruffles.  Her hat completes her sassy look.  I took very good care of  her and she is in excellent condition, just the right gift for a doll collector also.  I named her Josephine but you may rename her when she gets to her new home.  Enjoy her as much as I  have.

Rose Bud Coffee Canister

This is such a vintage look you have got to love it.  It's a tin canister, a pretty shade of blue, yellow lettering, a cup of steaming coffee on it and a couple of roses.  It says Rose Bud Brand Coffee, Syracuse, N.Y.   I actually kept tea bags in it but you can store anything easily in the air tight sealed can.  It measures 5 x 8 and would be adorable in a vintage or retro kitchen setting.

Black Poodle

This is a vintage black and silver metal poodle earring holder.  It's about 5 1/2" tall and looks like the dogs on the old poodle skirts of the 40's and 50's era.  Really cute.  Will hold about 25 pr. of earrings.  I used it for display in my shop and would be cute in a girl's room or for an adult jewelry holder also.

This little fellow is about 5" x 5" and a bright fuscia pink.  He is an earring holder from earlier times.  He is metal and will hold about 50 pr. of earrings.  So cute for a young girl's room or just a sit about.  Can be painted any color.  Really sweet.

Lady Head Plate

This is  a beautiful 9" round plate.  The rim is black and white polka dots and the inside is yellow.  It  has a lady's head which stands out in a three dimentional look.  She has on a pearl necklace and earrings.  Very nostalgic.  Looks great in a retro or vintage kitchen .  Has a hanger on back or can sit on an easel.  Very pretty.
